WELCOME

About our sessions.

The Happy Bump Club is a FREE pregnancy support group, aimed at promoting positive pregnancy for anyone in the Tameside and Oldham areas.

It is a chance for expectant parents to meet new friends, in a relaxed and informal space. For you to feel supported and well informed on your pregnancy journey and to make it an enjoyable experience while sharing your own personal stories.

We meet on the first Sunday of each month at Mossley Community Centre, between 11am and 12:30pm.

We collaborate with local maternity services and professionals who join our sessions to provide information and advice to our members. We also link with local GPs and the Social Prescribing Team to promote the group and to support potentially struggling new parents, and to tackle barriers associated with pregnancy.

The group is aimed at creating a supportive space where members can feel secure sharing their experiences, providing emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing support. As well as giving expectant parents a chance to make new friends. We are creating a support mechanism to help new parents manage difficult situations in a positive way and provide group support (whether that is face to face at our monthly sessions, or using our Facebook members group to interact with each other)

Our sessions are informal and provide a safe space to interact with others going through the same experience. There is no membership or subscription, you can simply come and go as you please.

We look forward to welcoming you soon!

About Us.

Hi, my name is Emma and I founded The Happy Bump Club back in early 2021.

I'm a first time mum to Daisy who was born in October 2020, and have since had a second daughter, Orlagh, in 2024. I spent most of my first pregnancy in lockdown or under restrictions and so didn't get the chance to go to any expectant mum groups, antenatal groups or meet with any other pregnant people in the area, along with attending all appointments and scans alone. It really wasn't the pregnancy experience I imagined.

Having only just moved to the area in the previous September, I had no opportunity to meet anyone local or share this experince with.

So when Daisy came along and restrictions started to ease, I thought I would start a group so anyone pregnant in the area could meet others, make new friends and get lots of information and advice in a friendly and safe space.

I love organising this group, creating connections in the community with maternity services, professionals, local businesses and most importantly, all our members! Who are just so open, honest and friendly. They come to our group wanting to meet others in the same situation.

Our aim is to promote positive pregnancy, by providing a place to come together and share information, tips and advice. It is ALWAYS FREE! My intention is to ensure everyone, no matter what their background, has access to this service.

Our doors are open to anyone who wants to join us. We have brews and biscuits waiting, as well as a book swap and baby clothes donations. Along with lots of leaflets and information if you wish to take them home.

If you've got this far, thank you for reading my story!

I hope to see you at one of our sessions soon!

Emma xx

Hi, I’m Ruth and I’m on a mission to help women and birthing people have positive birth experiences! I’m a mum, wife, hypnobirthing teacher, volunteer, and self-confessed birth nerd! I teach a range of group and 1:1 hypnobirthing courses to expectant mums and their birth partners. As well as running my hypnobirthing business, I volunteer with the Rochdale & Oldham Maternity Voices Partnership, where I collect feedback from service users and make sure it’s heard by the people who can make changes to improve the maternity service for everyone.

I live in Littleborough with my husband and two daughters, Penelope & Daphne. When I’m not working or looking after my girls, I’m usually reading a book, watching a cheesy film or folding laundry and wondering where on earth all the odd socks’ partners are! I’m also currently training to teach Pregnancy Yoga, having enjoyed it so much during my own pregnancy!
